  • 3 tbsp honey or simple syrup, or to taste

Step 3: Serve immediately
Pour into a tall glass and enjoy right away while it’s cold and creamy!

Notes

Additions and Substitutions

  • Frozen mango substitute: Fresh mango and add ½ cup ice, or use any frozen fruit of choice like pineapple, banana, or peaches.
  • Avocado substitute: Add ½ cup more coconut milk or ½ cup yogurt to keep the smoothie creamy. Or check out my Thai Mango Coconut smoothie!
  • Coconut milk substitute: Use milk of choice, almond milk, oat milk, coconut water, or water for a lighter smoothie.
  • Honey substitute: Use simple syrup, maple syrup, or agave syrup.
  • Protein addition: Add ½ cup Greek yogurt or a scoop of vanilla protein powder to make the smoothie more filling.
  • Extra tropical flavor: Add ½ cup pineapple or banana for even more tropical sweetness.
  • Citrus boost: Add a small squeeze of lime juice to brighten the flavors.
  • Texture boost: Add 1–2 tablespoons chia seeds or flaxseeds for extra fiber and nutrition.

Tips for the Best Mango Avocado Smoothie

  • Use ripe avocado: A ripe avocado blends smoother and tastes better. If it’s underripe, the smoothie may taste slightly grassy.
  • Frozen mango works best: It keeps the drink thick and cold without needing too much ice.
  • Adjust sweetness: Mango sweetness varies a lot, so taste and adjust your honey or syrup.
  • Blend longer than you think: Avocado smoothies get their silky texture from blending until completely smooth.
  • Serve immediately: Like most fruit smoothies, it’s best right after blending while the texture is thick and icy.
